Delicious Friday night. A glass of mellow red wine, a couple chocolate cookies, an intimate, soothing CD filling the cabin. Me…smiling uncontrollably…watching the brass lamp above my head swing as the boat surrenders to a gentle wind…curled under a blanket…devouring a wonderful book. The kind you savor, not wanting want to miss a word of dialog or description. Neighbor Dave was walking the docks earlier. Perfect evening for it. Every so often I pop my head out the hatch and drink in the beauty of the quiet. The moon glinting off my watery backyard. What have I done to deserve this? How totally sensuous and delectable my life has become. Peace. Happiness. Contentment. Love. All mine to enjoy.

May Day
Wow! The things that have happened in the past week! Friday night my good friends hosted a wonderful birthday party for me - the big 6-0! They rented a building, brought in a live band and invited lots of friends and family. I was humbled by the number of people who came to help me turn a new page in my personal history book! Chris even flew up from Tucson to share the evening with me. He stayed through Tuesday and we managed to get some work done on the boat, spend some time with friends and get out on the River for an afternoon motor (no wind...no sail). Yesterday I turned in my written notice so today was the first day of the last month I will work. Soon...soon...soon...Patty, Chris, "Faith" and I will be off on the big adventure. I can hardly wait!!
